Woman says Korean national raped her as minor

"A 75-year-old South Korean national running an orphanage at ByrathiBande near Bagalur in North Bangalore has been accused of sexually harassing and raping a minor girl.

"In her complaint to Kothanur police, 24-year-old Kamala (name changed), has alleged that she had joined the orphanage for girls - Pease House - run by the Korean national Do Qwoong Choi  ...

' ... The complainant said that she was sexually exploited by the orphanage director, Choi, for years and another staffer, Manuel Joy Singh, abetted his boss ... 

" ... "There was an office boy named Manuel Joy Singh in the orphanage. He forced me to sleep with Choi. Joy Singh once even fixed a video camera in the room and photographed Choi raping me," she alleged ...

" ... Kothanur police registered a case under Sections 506, 34, 376 and 354 of IPC against Choi and Joy Singh last week."

Pakur gangrape: Police arrest eight; one absconding

"Four minor Pahariya adivasi girls who were abducted from a residential school and gangraped in Pakur on Sunday night in Lawada village had been provided medical care in Pakur and their condition was stable, said district officials. The police have arrested eight men from Janjori village who are between 18 and 28 years of age. One of the nine accused - Prabudhan Hansda - is absconding.

" ... "We conducted simultaneous raids in Pakur, Hiranpada, Littipada and arrested eight men who confessed they were all drunk when they made a plan to break into the school building which is in an isolated area and abducted and raped four girls,” said Pakur’s recently-appointed Superintendent of Police Y.S. Ramesh.

" ... On Sunday night, the nine men entered the residential hostel bearing knives and axes and forcibly abducted four girls between 12 and 14 years of age. Two were students of class III in the residential school run by Evangelical Church of India, Chennai and two girls were enrolled in the vocational training in the same building ... "
